(November 20, 2008) - Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will perform maintenance along a section along MD 404 (Shore Highway) between MD 404 Alternate (Hillsboro Road) and Holly Road in Caroline County. Weather permitting, the $125,000 project is scheduled for completion within a week’s time.

SHA will deep patch approximately two and one-half miles along this section of MD 404; crews will work weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. along the two-lane section. Motorists will be directed using a flagging operation. Variable message signs, signs, cones, drums and flagpersons will guide motorists through the work zone. SHA awarded the contract to David A. Bramble, Inc. of Chestertown.

Those who have questions about SHA maintained roads may contact SHA’s District 2 Office at 410-778-3061 or toll-free at 1-800-637-9740. SHA reminds motorists to Choose Safety For Life by following five basic rules: Buckle Up. Slow down. Always drive sober. Focus. Everyone share the road.
