Anthony Crawford to Lead SHA’s District Six          
          
(January 12, 2009) –State Highway Administrator Neil Pedersen is pleased to announce that Anthony Crawford is SHA’s new District Six Engineer. Headquartered in LaVale, the District Six area includes state-numbered routes in Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties. Mr. Crawford assumed his new duties on January 1.           
          
A twelve-year SHA employee, Anthony Crawford was previously the Assistant District Engineer for Maintenance in the District Six Office. As District Engineer, Mr. Crawford is responsible for an operation budget of $20 million and manages all construction, traffic, and maintenance operations for state roads in these three counties.          
          
Mr. Crawford supervises approximately 196 employees within the District Office and three maintenance shops in Keyser’s Ridge, Hagerstown, and LaVale. He has a wide range of experience, and during his career has placed customer service and safety as top priorities.          
          
“My predecessor, Bob Fisher, was an outstanding leader and mentor,” said Anthony Crawford. “I’m very excited to take on the role of District Engineer because of the wonderful staff I have to work with.”          
          
Mr. Crawford is a 1996 graduate of University of Maryland with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He resides in Morgantown, West Virginia with his wife, Celinda and two sons Connor and Preston.
