The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has canceled previously scheduled road resurfacing for tonight (Friday, November 2) along southbound MD 355 (Rockville Pike) from Cedar Croft Drive and MD 547 (Strathmore Avenue) in Bethesda. 

Instead, SHA will resurface on Monday, November 5 and Tuesday, November 6 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.  Crews will temporarily close two lanes along southbound MD 355 to perform the work.  Previously announced pavement marking work on MD 355 at Cedar Lane for Saturday is not impacted by the cancellation and will take place as scheduled.

SHA will work cooperatively with Montgomery County traffic officials to avoid long traffic backups and will adjust traffic signal timing to keep traffic moving evenly throughout the work zone.  The work is part of a $2.3 million safety and resurfacing project. All phases of the project should be complete late spring 2013.
