(October 2, 2012) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) is performing routine maintenance on the MD 213 Chester River Drawbridge on Monday, October 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crews will open the bridge periodically for test openings that should last no longer than those needed for an average boat passage.  All bridge work is weather permitting. If inclement weather prevents the maintenance work, it will be conducted the next day, October 9.  Anyone with questions about the project may contact the SHA District 2 Office at 1-800-637-9740.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.  Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone!
