(September 13, 2012) – Starting Monday, September 17, and continuing through Friday, September 21, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will perform maintenance on drainage pipes at the intersection of
MD 736 (Midlothian Road) and Shaft Road, south of Frostburg in Allegany County.
The work will require shoulder and single-lane closures on the two-lane road. Motorists should anticipate flagging operations on both MD 736 and Shaft Road each day between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
An average of 4,500 vehicles travel on MD 736 each day.
Anyone with questions about the project may call SHA's LaVale maintenance shop at (301) 729-8433.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
