(February 28, 2012) – Beginning Wednesday, February 29, the State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close MD 481 (Damsontown Road) at Crouse Mill Road in southeastern Queen Anne’s County between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

The closure is necessary to replace five large culvert drainage pipes underneath MD 481 just east of Crouse Mill Road near Tuckahoe State Park.  The $30,000 project will be completed by Friday, March 2, weather permitting.

On Wednesday, SHA will redirect motorists from MD 481 to Crouse Mill Road and back to MD 481.  On Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2, SHA will replace a 60-foot pipe on MD 481 near Greenville Road.  Traffic will be detoured from MD 481 to Greenville Road to MD 304 (Ruthsburg Road) and back to MD 481.

SHA will use portable dynamic message signs (DMS) and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.  Drivers need to stay alert for this temporary change in traffic patterns. When approaching the detours on MD 481 slow down and don’t follow too closely.  Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone.
