Expect Daytime Work with Alternating Single-Lane Closures near Clarysville
(August 22, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a pavement resurfacing project on eastbound I-68 (National Freeway) between MD 936 (Upper George’s Creek Road) and MD 55 (Vale Summit Road) in Clarysville on Monday, August 26. The resurfacing project should be complete by the first week of November, weather permitting.
Crews will work Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and drivers can expect alternating lane closures on eastbound I-68. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Keystone Lime Company, Inc. of Springs, PA, will use electronic message boards, detour signs, barrels, and cones to guide motorists safely through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration appreciates motorists’ patience as we complete this necessary inspection and maintenance work. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
