Report all highway emergencies not requiring police assistance, such as traffic signal outages and sinkholes, to our Statewide Operations Center at 1-800-543-2515 (toll-free) or 410-582-5650 (local).

Roads We Maintain

Request help with potholes, dead animals, traffic signs, signals, litter, and other non-emergency issues.

Note the following:

Toll roads (including I-95, the Bay Bridge and the Fort McHenry Tunnel) are owned and maintained by the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).
Typically, traffic signals at intersections on State roads are maintained by the State. There are a few locations where a local agency operates and maintains an intersection on a State road given an agreement with the State.
In Baltimore City, local roads, interstates and numbered routes are maintained by the Baltimore City Department of Transportation (Toll roads I-95, I-395 and I-895, within the city are maintained by the Maryland Transportation Authority). For help with transportation problems in Baltimore go to Service Types or call 311.
