Drivers Will be Guided Using a Signed Detour Near Aviation Boulevard for Two Weeknights
(October 26, 2026) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close a section of MD 170 (Camp Meade Road) overnight between MD 162 (Aviation Boulevard) and south of Flight Time Drive for asphalt patching in northern Anne Arundel County.
The overnight closure is scheduled Tuesday night, October 27, and Wednesday night, October 28, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers will be directed along MD 162 and Andover Road as part of the signed detour route. Portable variable message signs will advertise the road closure dates.
Drivers should plan extra travel time or seek alternate routes; all work is weather permitting. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers MD of Fallston, will use arrow boards and barrels and temporary traffic signs to guide motorists along the signed detour route. Customers may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 800-331-5603 for additional information.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
