Overnight Work Hours Will Minimize Public Impacts for Project Just South of Chesapeake City
(April 27, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to resurface 2.3 miles of MD 213 (Augustine Herman Highway) between MD 310 (Cayots Corner Road) and Randalia Road in Cecil County beginning Wednesday, April 29. All work will be completed by early June, weather permitting.
Work includes milling, patching, paving and striping. To minimize traffic impacts, all work will occur during overnight hours, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Drivers can expect a single-lane flagging operation during work hours.
Allan Myers, Inc. of Fallston is the general contractor for this $1.8 million project.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
