​Project Requires Single-Lane Closures During Overnight Work Hours

(April 23, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will install new guardrail along US 15 between the bridge over the Potomac River and Mountville Road​ in Point of Rocks, Frederick County starting this Sunday, April 26. The project will take one week to complete, weather permitting.  

The project requires single-lane closures during the overnight work hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be a flagging operation to maintain two-way travel through the work zone on US 15.   

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
