Detours Will Be in Effect; Motorists Advised to Expect Delays on MD 90
(December 11, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform daytime pavement patching work at two locations on MD 90 (Ocean City Expressway) beginning Tuesday, December 16. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, December 19, weather permitting. Crews will work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the three-day project.
The two locations that will be improved are eastbound MD 90 at eastbound US 50 (Ocean Gateway) and MD 90 at MD 589 (Racetrack Road).
For the MD 90 at eastbound US 50 location, drivers will be guided using eastbound US 50 to northbound US 113 (Worcester Highway) and back to MD 90. For the westbound MD 90 at MD 589 location, drivers will be guided from westbound MD 90 to northbound MD 589 (Racetrack Road) to southbound US 113 and back to westbound MD 90. For the eastbound MD 90 at MD 589 location, drivers will be guided from eastbound MD 90 to northbound US 113 to southbound MD 589 and back to eastbound MD 90.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, David A. Bramble, Inc. will use arrow boards, cones, and flaggers to safely guide motorists through the work zone. Drivers should add extra commute times of up to 30 minutes during the work.
The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow Down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
