Expect Overnight Single-Lane Closures Through Thursday, November 20

(November 12, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will replace a deteriorated stormwater pipe at the MD 589 (Racetrack Road)/Grays Corner Road intersection beginning Sunday, November 16. The project should be completed by Thursday, November 20, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect nighttime single-lane closures Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additionally, one of the two eastbound turn lanes from US 50 onto MD 589 (Racetrack Road) will be closed during the pipe replacement project.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, David A. Bramble, Inc. of Chestertown, will use variable message signs, arrow boards, cones, and flaggers to safely guide motorists through the work zone. Maryland State Police will be at the work site for traffic support.

The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system.  Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone.  Slow Down and move over in work zones.  It’s the law.
