Motorists Should Expect Traffic Delays During Overnight Work Hours

(October 15, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin resurfacing a section of southbound US 13 Business in Wicomico County on Sunday, October 19. Between West College Avenue (Salisbury) and Main Street (Fruitland): crews will be milling (removing the top layer of asphalt), paving and restriping the roadway. Completion is anticipated by late fall, weather permitting.

Crews will work overnight, Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.  During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures and flagging operations throughout the duration of the project.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers of Fallston, MD will use arrow boards, cones, and flaggers to safely guide motorists through the work zone.

The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system.  Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone.  Slow Down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
