(July 28, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin resurfacing a section of MD 165 (Federal Hill Road) in Jarrettsville, Harford County, as soon as Wednesday, July 30. The work on the two-mile section of MD 165, between Twin Oaks Road and St. Clair Bridge Road, is expected to be completed in early fall, weather permitting.

Contractor crews will work summer daytime hours, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays. After the Labor Day holiday weekend, crews will switch to 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays. During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures with flagging operations to control two-way traffic. Crews and flaggers will use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.

The $1.2 million project is part of a $13.6 million State Highway Administration contract to repair, patch, mill and resurface pavements on State highways in Harford County.

The contractor is Allan Myers MD, Inc. of Fallston.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
