Bridge to Temporarily Close, Motorists Will Be Detoured Around Work Zone
(April 30, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close the Cambridge Creek Bridge (Maryland Avenue) next week for concrete repairs to the drawbridge. Marine and pedestrian traffic will not be impacted by the closure.
Beginning Monday May 5 at 7 a.m., crews will close the bridge and SHA’s contractor, ANA General Contractors LLC of Laurel, an MDOT-certified Minority Business Enterprise, will use reflective barrels, temporary traffic signs and VMS boards to detour traffic around the project limits. Weather permitting, all work should be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday May 9.
Motorists traveling west on Maryland Avenue will turn left onto Dorchester Avenue, right onto Cedar Street, right onto Academy Avenue, and back to Maryland Avenue.
Motorists traveling east on Maryland Avenue will turn right onto Academy Avenue, left onto Cedar Street, left on Dorchester Avenue and proceed to Maryland Avenue.
