Expect Daytime Lane Closures on MD 165 (Federal Hill Road) During the Work
(April 7, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will mill, patch and resurface approximately two miles of MD 165 (Federal Hill Road) between the driveway of the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company and Twin Oaks Road in Jarrettsville, Harford County as soon as Thursday, April 10. The $1.2 million paving project is expected to be completed by late June, weather permitting.
Contractor crews will perform the paving work weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists on Federal Hill Road can expect single-lane closures at the intersection with flagging operations in effect. Crews will also use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone. Flagging operations will give priority to the fire company and EMS vehicles traveling in the work zone.
The work on Federal Hill Road is part of a $6.4 million State Highway Administration maintenance contract to improve pavement ride quality along State highways in Harford County. Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston will perform the paving work.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
