Motorists Can Expect Daytime and Overnight Lane Closures on US 40 between MD 700 and Middle River Road Fall 2024 through Late Spring 2025

(October 21, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will upgrade concrete traffic barriers along US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between MD 700 (Martin Boulevard) and Middle River Road in the Middle River area of Baltimore County beginning Thursday, October 24.  The $1.2 million traffic safety enhancement project will be complete early spring 2025, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, contractor and subcontractor crews will work to remove and replace sections of traffic barrier and barrier end treatments along this section of US 40, with temporary through lane and intersection turn lane closures in effect where needed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight Sunday through Thursday between  9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day.

The State’s contractor, L. S. Lee, Inc. of York, PA, and subcontractor Priority Construction Corp. of Baltimore will perform the work this fall and winter.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
