***TRAFFIC ALERT*** STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE RAMPS AT I-695/ MD 41 (PERRING PARKWAY) INTERCHANGE IN BALTIMORE COUNTY STARTING SUNDAY NIGHT

​Crews Will Work Overnight to Upgrade Traffic Barrier Through late July 

(July 3, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close interchange ramps and detour traffic at the I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) / MD 41 (Perring Parkway) interchange​ in Parkville beginning Sunday night, July 7. The overnight closures will allow contractor crews to upgrade traffic barriers (guardrail) on eight ramps through late July, weather permitting.  

Crews will work overnight with temporary interchange ramp closures in effect overnight Sundays through Thursdays,10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. In case of inclement weather, ramp closures will take place on the next possible weeknight. 

The ramp closures and detours are planned to take place on the following dates, weather permitting:  

  • Sunday, July 7:  
    • Eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop) ramp to northbound MD 41
    • Detour:  Proceed on eastbound I-695 to next exit MD 147 (Harford Road), turn left onto northbound MD 147, then turn right at ramp onto westbound I-695 (Outer Loop), then right onto ramp to northbound MD 41.     
  • ​Monday, July 8:  
    • ​Eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop) to southbound MD 41  
    • Detour: Proceed on eastbound I-695 to northbound MD 41, proceed through the interchange loop ramps to westbound I-695 to ramp to southbound MD 41.
  • ​Tuesday, July 9 and Wednesday July 10:  
    • ​Southbound MD 41 ramp to westbound I-695 (Outer Loop)   
    • Detour: Southbound MD 41 to eastbound I-695, on I-695 proceed to ramp to northbound MD 41, then take northbound MD 41 to ramp to westbound I-695.
  • ​Thursday, July 11:  
    • ​Southbound MD 41 to eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop) 
    • Detour: Proceed south on MD 41, turn left onto eastbound Putty Hill Avenue, proceed on Putty Hill Avenue, turn left onto northbound MD 147 (Harford Road), turn right onto eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop). 
  • ​Sunday, July 14:  
    • ​Westbound I-695 (Outer Loop) Ramp to southbound MD 41  
    • Detour: Proceed on westbound I-695 to Cromwell Bridge Road, turn right onto Cromwell Bridge Road to ramp to eastbound I-695, proceed on eastbound I-695 to ramp to southbound MD 41.    
  • ​Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16:  
    • ​Northbound MD 41 ramp to eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop)  
    • Detour: Continue on northbound MD 41, turn right onto ramp to westbound I-695 (Outer Loop) stay right and turn right onto southbound MD 41, then on southbound MD 41 turn right onto ramp to eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop).    
  • ​Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18:  
    • ​Northbound MD 41 ramp to westbound I-695 (Outer Loop) 
      • Detour: Proceed on northbound MD 41 to Joppa Road, turn left and proceed west on Joppa Road turn right onto northbound MD 542, proceed on northbound MD 542 just past Cromwell Bridge Road to ramp to westbound I-695.     
    • Westbound I-695 (Outer Loop) to Northbound MD 41 
      • Detour: Proceed on westbound I-695 (Outer Loop) to southbound MD 41, stay right to turn right onto eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop) then turn right onto northbound MD 41 . 

Contractor L. S. Lee, Inc. of Hampstead will perform the work.
