***TRAFFIC ALERT*** STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO RESURFACE CONCRETE PAVEMENT ON MD 542 (LOCH RAVEN BOULEVARD) IN BALTIMORE COUNTY

​Continuous, Single-Lane Closures for Three Weekends starts 8 p.m. Friday 

(October 16, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to remove and resurface sections of concrete pavement on MD 542 (Loch Raven Boulevard) between Joppa Road and Cromwell Bridge Road​ in Baltimore County on Friday, October 20. The $110,000 pavement repair project should be complete by early November, weather permitting.  

Beginning Friday night, contractor crews will begin weekend work with continuous single-lane closures along Loch Raven Boulevard from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday to remove old concrete, pour, set and test new concrete. Drivers should expect lane closures in effect on the following weekends:   

  • ​8 p.m. Friday night, October 20 – 5 a.m. Monday morning October 23
  • 8 p.m. Friday night, October 27 – 5 a.m. Monday morning, October 30
  • 8 p.m. Friday night, November 3 – 5 a.m. Monday morning, November 6  

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium, will use temporary traffic signs to guide drivers safely through the work zone and interchange ramp detour routes. In case of inclement weather, the work will be performed on the next possible weekend.  

The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
