Routine Bridge Inspection Scheduled for Nov. 3-7

(Oct. 31, 2019) –  Beginning Sunday, Nov. 3, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform routine bridge inspections on the MD 4 (Patuxent Beach Road) Bridge over the Patuxent River (Governor Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge) at the Calvert/St. Mary’s County line. Inspection crews will work each night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday evening through Thursday morning, Nov. 7.

Drivers will be guided through the work zone using a flagging operation. Motorists should plan extra travel time each evening during the inspection.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for motorists, as well as our crews. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
