(March 14, 2019) – On Monday, March 18, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) between Lander Road and Old Middletown Road for a pipe crossing. The closure and detour will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Crews will perform the same closure and detour on Monday, March 25 during the same work hours.

Motorists will be detoured using Lander Road to Roundtree Road to Horine Road and back to MD 180. Through traffic may consider using US 340, which runs parallel to MD 180, as an alternate route. Approximately 4,800 vehicles use this section of MD 180 each day, so motorists are encouraged to build in extra commute time during the temporary closures.

Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
