Due to uncertainty with the weather forecast, SHA has postponed the temporary closure and detour of MD 331 to Sunday, May 8 starting at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday.

(April 28, 2016) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will patch and resurface existing MD 331 (Dover Road) just east of the Choptank River on Tuesday, May 3. This work will require the complete closure of MD 331 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, through 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 4. Detour signs will be posted during these hours. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers. The work zone on MD 331 for the new Dover Bridge does not allow enough room to safely maintain one lane of traffic during the overnight resurfacing. SHA urges motorists to plan ahead and avoid travel in this area during the work hours. On average, 12,000 vehicles a day use this portion of MD 331 at the Caroline County/Talbot County line. The rain date for this work is May 4-5. ###
