(August 3, 2012) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) is temporarily closing MD 405 (Price Station Road) at US 301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) near Price in Queen Anne’s County for five days  beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, August 6, for railroad crossing repairs. The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) will replace a cracked rail at this location.

Motorists traveling eastbound on Price Station Road will turn north onto Rabbit Hill Road, continue eastbound until turning south on to Seney Road, then turn back westbound on to Price Station Road.  Westbound traffic on MD 405 will be detoured in the reverse direction. The temporary detour will be in place until late afternoon, Friday, August 10, weather permitting.

SHA will use barricades, variable message signs, cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone. Anyone with questions concerning the project should contact MDTA at 410-271-5629.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.  Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone!
