(April 13, 2012) – Last week, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) began a $200,000 project to repair pavement on approaches to bridges along northbound and southbound I-83 (Baltimore-Harrisburg Expressway) in northern Baltimore County.  SHA anticipates completing the resurfacing by Memorial Day.

SHA is performing nighttime concrete patching operations along I-83 between I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) and Shawan Road.  Single lane closures may occur at any time Sunday through Thursday between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Crews are also performing daytime patching along I-83 between Exit 20, Shawan Road and the bridge carrying I-83 over Quaker Bottom Road.  Single lane closures in this area of I-83 may occur at any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

SHA’s contractor for the project is Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium.  Weather permitting,

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.   Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone.
