MDOT SHA is one of six transportation business units that strives to provide exemplary customer service on Maryland’s transportation system. MDOT SHA is responsible for the State’s numbered, non-tolled roads and continues to deliver transportation projects and solutions that improve Maryland's roads and bridges. Facilitating the movement of people and the flow of goods through the State directly affects the ability to connect citizens to life’s opportunities.

Since MDOT SHA’s inception as the State Roads Commission in 1908, the organization has built on its foundation of quality and integrity. We are proud of our tradition of excellence.
