Drivers Can Expect Nighttime Single Lane Closures with Flagging Operation

(June 29, 2023) – The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin a project Wednesday, July 5, to improve about 1.5 miles of MD 91 (Gamber Road) between Deer Park Road and Bloom Road (just south of MD 140) in Finksburg. The work will be performed overnight and should be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.

The project includes milling (removing the top layer of asphalt), paving and restriping the main lanes and shoulders on MD 91. Drivers should expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, Sundays through Thursdays.

The state’s contractor, Francis O. Day Inc., of Rockville, will use barrels, cones, flaggers and arrow boards to safely guide motorists through the work zone. Motorcyclists should use extra caution for uneven pavement during the resurfacing project. This section of MD 91 was last resurfaced in 2002. The State Highway Administration understands that road work can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a world-class transportation system.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
