Media tour of the first segment (I-370 to Georgia Avenue) of the

Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200, scheduled to open Feb. 22, weather

permitting

Visuals:    

During the tour, staff will highlight features of the roadway including

toll gantries, structures and environmental elements.   Ride in and

preview the look of the Maryland Transit Administration’s ICC Commuter

Bus.

Where: 

Meet at the MD 28 park and ride lot off of Georgia Avenue.  Arrive 15

minutes early – 10:15 a.m. - to be issued safety gear.  Bus leaves

promptly at 10:30 a.m. and returns by 11:45 a.m.  The tour is RAIN OR

SHINE.

Why: 

This is your opportunity to see the ICC before it opens to traffic and to

talk directly with project staff.  No individual tours will be offered. 

Tours after the road opens will not be possible.

Apparel: 

All attendees must wear closed-toe, hard-soled shoes.  Boots are highly

recommended.  All participants will be loaned a hard hat, safety vest and

goggles, which must be worn on the construction site.

RSVP: 

Credentialed media representatives are welcome. All attendees must RSVP –

so if a reporter and photographer are coming, both must be registered.
