Double-Lane Closure Expected Overnight Monday through Thursday Next Week

(November 14, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will assist Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) with gas line inspections on I-95 between MD 100 and I-895, a span of three miles, in Howard County on Monday, November 18. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. on Friday, November 22.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, November 18, two lanes on northbound I-95 will close at MD 100. The double-lane closure will extend to I-895 as BGE works through the night to complete the inspection. The schedule is 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.

The northbound I-95 inspection will take two nights to complete. BGE will then switch to the southbound lanes of I-95 on Wednesday and Thursday. BGE will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the work zone and lane closures.

The State Highway Administration maintains safety in work zones for our crews as well as motorists. Drivers need to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes, and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
