Motorists Should Expect Nighttime Detours; Allow Additional Travel Time
(August 23, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is continuing the ramp resurfacing project on Wednesday night, August 24, to improve the driving surface and enhance safety at the MD 170 / I-195 interchange ramps. The next scheduled ramp for resurfacing is the westbound I-195 ramp to northbound and southbound MD 170 near BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County.
Starting tomorrow, crews will temporarily close the westbound I-195 ramp to northbound and southbound MD 170 overnight from 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., for approximately two nights, weather permitting, to mill, patch and resurface the pavement. Motorists on westbound I-195 will be detoured to Terminal Road, to northbound/southbound MD 170.
Portable and overhead variable message signs will provide advanced notification of the work. Signs will guide motorists through the detours.
MDOT SHA’s contractor, Team Cam Services LLC, of Linthicum, is performing the work.
Customers who have questions about this work may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.
