Motorists Can Expect Overnight Lane Closures on I-95 and MD 543 Through Early Fall
(June 18, 2025) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to clean and paint the MD 543 (Riverside Parkway) bridge over I-95 (John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway) in Harford County next week. The $1 million project will be complete by early fall, weather permitting.
Beginning on or after Monday night, June 23, contractor crews will clean and paint the bridge this summer. Motorists can expect overnight single and double lane closures along northbound and southbound I-95 in the vicinity of the MD 543 interchange and along MD 543 in the vicinity of I-95 Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
The work on MD 543 is part of the State Highway Administration’s $2.8 million contract for cleaning and painting bridges on state highways within Baltimore and Harford Counties. Contractor Reglas Painting Co. of Dundalk will perform the work.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
