(November 21,
2019) – On Friday, November 22 at 10 a.m., the Maryland Department of
Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is activating a new
full-color traffic signal at the intersection of MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard)
and Campbell Boulevard in Baltimore County. The new signal will replace the
existing flashing yellow beacon. MDOT SHA has placed portable message signs
alerting motorists to the new traffic signal.
MDOT SHA’s contractor,
Thompson Electric of Aberdeen, is performing the signal installation work, which
also includes new reflective pavement markings. The total cost of the project is
$208,000.
In an agreement
with MDOT SHA, Baltimore County funded the new traffic signal to facilitate
access to local developments, as well as the county’s Campbell Boulevard
extension to MD 43.
MDOT SHA works hard
to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for motorists, as well as our
crews. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed
limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and
slowdown in construction zones.
