STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO PERFORM ROUTINE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE ON THE THOMAS JOHNSON BRIDGE IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND

Single-lane Closure with Flagging Operation to Occur October 25 and 26          
          
(October 22, 2008) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will perform routine maintenance and inspection of the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge in southern Maryland, which carries MD 4 between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties. This work is part of SHA’s bridge inspection program.          
          
Single-lane closures will occur between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26, weather permitting. Flagpersons will alternate traffic in one lane of the two-lane bridge during the inspection and maintenance.
