STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO HOST AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES (ADA) PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT MEETING FOR WESTERN MARYLAND

Who: State Highway Administration (SHA) representatives          
Residents, businesses, community organizations and area officials           
          
What: SHA, along with the Maryland Department of Education’s Division of Rehabilitation Services, is hosting a public involvement meeting to provide an opportunity for comment and feedback on sidewalks and pedestrian access along the State highway system. A brief overview will be given at 5:30 p.m. Displays will also be available for review.           
          
When: Thursday, December 18, 2008 between 5:30 and 7 p.m.          
          
Where: One-Stop Job Center – Conference Room          
138 Baltimore Street – Suite 102, Cumberland, MD, 21502          
          
Why: SHA’s self-evaluation is underway to identify and prioritize future Americans with Disabilities (ADA) improvements in the State’s public rights-of-way that do not meet ADA’s current guidelines.
