Drivers Can Expect Lane Closures, Flagging Operations for Two Weekends

(October 10, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will mill, patch and resurface the bridge deck (riding surface) of the two-lane bridge carrying Windsor Mill Road over I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in northwestern Baltimore County on two weekends starting 7 p.m. Friday night, October 20.  The $225,000 bridge maintenance project should be complete by Monday morning October 23, weather permitting.

During the weekend paving work, the bridge will remain open to traffic with one lane open and one lane closed; a flagging operation will direct two-way traffic on the bridge. Motorists can expect lane closures with flagging operations on Windsor Mill Road in the vicinity of the bridge on two weekends, October 20-22 and October 27-29. The sidewalk on the westbound side of the bridge will be temporarily closed on the first weekend.

The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
