Expect Weekday Lane Closures with Flagging Operations Through Early November
(October 20, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a pavement repair project on MD 26 (Liberty Road) in western Baltimore County as soon as Thursday, October 23. The work should be completed by early November, weather permitting.
Crews will repair sections of pavement where needed along 1.2 miles of
MD 26 between the Liberty Reservoir bridge and Powells Run Road. Motorists can expect single-lane closures with flagging operations to control two-way traffic on MD 26 at any time between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. Contractor Slurry Pavers, Inc. of Richmond, VA., will use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.
The $519,000 project on MD 26 is part of a $2.4 million State Highway Administration contract to repair and improve pavement conditions and safety on State highways in Baltimore and Harford counties.
