(October 8, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is beginning a $246,000 project to mill and resurface a one-half-mile section of
I-95 at the Joh Avenue bridge, between the I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) and Alt US 1 (Caton Avenue) interchanges in southwestern Baltimore County beginning as soon as 9 p.m. Thursday, October 9. Weather permitting, the paving work will be completed in late October.
Crews will begin work on southbound I-95 and then switch to northbound I-95 during the next two weeks. During work hours, motorists can expect overnight double-lane closures at any time between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday - Thursday. Crews will use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.
The paving work on I-95 at Joh Avenue is part of the State Highway Administration’s $7.6 million areawide contract to improve safety and operations along Interstate highways in Baltimore County. The contractor is Gray & Son, Inc. of Timonium.
