Corridor Identified for Improvements in Statewide Pedestrian Safety Action Plan

(April 21, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will host a public informational workshop, 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, to provide information and gather community input on proposed pedestrian safety improvements along the MD 414 (St. Barnabas Road) corridor between Virginia Lane and Clifton Road in Prince George's County. The informational workshop will be held at Barnaby Manor Elementary School, 2411 Owens Road, Oxon Hill.

The State Highway Administration’s Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, published in May 2023, identifies areas of need and prioritizes corridors for pedestrian and bicycle safety projects. Safety improvements are planned for the MD 414 corridor in Prince George’s County as part of the State Highway Administration’s commitment to a safe and accessible transportation network for all users, including pedestrians and bicyclists.
