​Motorists Should Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations During Projects 

(July 11, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is beginning highway pavement maintenance projects on two State highways in western Baltimore County beginning Sunday night, July 14.  Work will be complete by mid-fall, weather permitting.

Beginning Sunday night, contractor crews will begin a project to patch sections of pavement on MD 130 (Greenspring Valley Road) from MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) to Spring Hill Road in Garrison. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 9 p.m.-5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Beginning 9 p.m. Sunday, July 21, contractor crews will begin three concurrent to improve pavement on three segments of MD 144 (Frederick Road) from the Howard County line to MD 166 (South Rolling Road):

Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations on MD 144 9 p.m.– 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The paving work is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on primary state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor C. J. Miller, Inc. of Hampstead will perform the paving work at all four locations.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
