I-70 sign
Nighttime Work Will Require Alternating Lane Closures
(June 27, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform milling and paving work on eastbound I-70 at Crystal Falls Drive beginning next week. The work will continue through the end of August, weather permitting.
Work will begin at 7 p.m. on July 1 and drivers can expect alternating right and left lane closures on eastbound I-70 during work hours. Lanes will reopen each day by 5 a.m.
The resurfacing work is part of the continuing work for the I-70 bridge replacement project at Crystal Falls Drive. Work will be performed Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Triton Construction, Inc. of St. Albans, WV, will use variable message signs, cones, drums, and temporary traffic signs to guide motorists through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
