Overnight Work on Westbound MD 26 ramp to US 15 Begins Sunday; Repairs to Southbound US 15 Ramp to MD 180 Start Monday

(June 21, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving the driving surface to the US 15 and MD 26 (Liberty Road) ramps in Frederick County on Sunday, June 23. The overnight repairs to the westbound MD 26 ramp to northbound US 15 will take one night to complete, while the work to the southbound US 15 ramp to eastbound MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) will take four nights.

On Sunday, crews will work from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the westbound MD 26 ramp. While work is taking place, crews will be detoured to southbound US 15 to the Motter Avenue exit and access northbound US 15.

On Monday, crews will work 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on the southbound US 15 ramp. During work hours, crews will close the ramp’s three lanes to repair cracks and depressions on the roadway surface. The detour will direct motorists to continue southbound US 15 and the Jefferson Technology Parkway exit. Motorists can then access northbound US 15 and exit to eastbound MD 180.

The contractor, Francis O. Day Company of Rockville, will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the ramp closures and detour routes.
