(June 13, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin cleaning and painting the
MD 125 (Old Court Road / Woodstock Road) bridge over the Patapsco River in the vicinity of the Patapsco Valley State Park at the Baltimore/Howard County line on Monday, June 17. The project should be complete by early fall, weather permitting.
Beginning 9 a.m. Monday, motorists should expect temporary daytime lane closures with flagging operations in the vicinity of the bridge weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and at night Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day through early July for staging of work zone barriers and equipment on the bridge.
Once the work zone area set-up is complete in early July, the bridge will be open to vehicles and bicycles with both travel lanes open, although the shoulders will remain closed. Drivers are reminded to pay extra attention for pedestrians and bicyclists.
This work is part of the State Highway Administration’s bridge cleaning and painting program to preserve State-maintained structures on the State highway system within Baltimore and Harford counties.
Contractor Manolis Painting of Baldwin, MD, will use reflective barrels, temporary traffic barriers and temporary traffic signs where necessary to guide motorists and bicyclists through the bridge work zone. Crews will have containment, testing and protective measures at the bridge to monitor environmental conditions before and during the construction activities.
Customers may contact the State Highway Administration’s District 4 Office Construction Division at 410-229-2300, or the MD 125 bridge project field office at 410-771-3039.
