(June 13, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is beginning construction on a $4.1 million project next week to improve safety and capacity on northbound MD 755 (Edgewood Road) at MD 24 (Emmorton Road) in the Edgewood area of Harford County. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete in 2025.

Beginning Sunday night, June 16, crews will widen a quarter-mile section of northbound MD 755 to extend the right-turn lane onto northbound MD 24. Motorists should expect temporary daytime lane closures in the area of the intersection between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. Additionally, overnight lane closures will occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sundays to Thursdays.

This project is part of the State Highway Administration’s efforts to improve traffic flow at intersections in Baltimore and Harford counties. The work includes replacing curbs and driveways, improving drainage and installing new guardrails. After widening the road, crews will resurface the pavement and add new road and crosswalk markings to make the intersection safer and more efficient for all roadway users. Contractor Allan Myers MD Inc., of Fallston, will perform the work.

The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow down and move over in work zones. It’s the law. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for assistance.
