MD 165 sign Motorists Should Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations During Projects (May 21, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is beginning three pavement improvement projects in Harford County over the next three weeks. All work will be complete by mid-summer, weather permitting. Beginning tomorrow night, Wednesday, May 22, contractor crews will resurface MD 165 (Federal Hill Road) from MD 23 (Norrisville/Jarrettsville Road) to the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company driveway. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Beginning Sunday, June 2, contractor crews will begin resurfacing project on the ramp from northbound MD 24 (Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway) to northbound US 1 (Bel Air Bypass). Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Beginning Sunday, June 9, contractor crews will begin a resurfacing project on the ramp from northbound US 1 (Bel Air Bypass) to southbound MD 24. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The paving work is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on primary state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston will perform the paving work at all three locations.
