Motorists Should Expect Flagging and Lane Closures
(April 4, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a resurfacing project on MD 60 (Leitersburg Pike) between Eastern Boulevard and Cortland Drive on Monday, April 8 in Washington County. All work is expected to be complete by the end of May, weather permitting.
Beginning the evening of Monday, April 8, drivers can expect alternating lane closures in both directions of MD 60. Crews will work Sundays through Thursdays 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Motorists are encouraged to add extra nighttime driving time.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor F.O. Day Co., Inc., of Rockville, will conduct the work. Crews will be grinding and resurfacing. The contractors will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the single-lane closures and work zones.
