(February 9, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is scheduled to use a crane on February 12 to remove a large debris buildup underneath the
MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek, near Darlington in Harford County. The debris removal should be complete by Friday, February 16, weather permitting.
The debris removal will require daytime bridge closures and detours next week. The bridge closure and detour will be in effect every day between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
All through travelers on MD 161 between the Darlington and Level areas of Harford County will be diverted to use a detour route including US 1 (Conowingo Road), MD 136 (Priestford Road) and MD 155 (Level Road).
