Overnight Work Will Minimize School Impacts; Expedite Completion
(September 27, 2023) –The Maryland State Highway Administration will resurface 1.7 miles of
MD 304 (Ruthsburg Road) from US 301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) to Kidwell Avenue in Queen Anne’s County beginning this Sunday, October 1. All work will be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
This project includes milling, patching, paving, and striping. To minimize local school impacts, crews will work overnight, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Motorists will encounter single-lane closures and flagging operations during these hours.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers, Inc., of Fallston, will use cones, barrels, and a flagging operation to safely guide drivers through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration understands that lane closures associated with construction are inconvenient but are necessary to maintain a world-class transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes, and slowdown in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
