Drivers Can Expect Overnight Single-Lane Closures
(September 20, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will repair sections of asphalt pavement on 1.3 miles of MD 45 (York Road) between Shawan Road and Phoenix Road in northern Baltimore County starting Sunday, September 24. The $222,000 project should be complete by late fall, weather permitting.
During the paving work, motorists can expect single-lane closures and lane shifts with flagging operations where needed Sunday through Thursday nights, 8 p.m.-5 a.m. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son Inc. of Timonium, will use temporary traffic signs and reflective cones to guide drivers safely through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
Customers may contact the State Highway Administration District 4 Office Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 for additional information.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
