Motorists Advised to Plan for Extra Travel Time Through Parkville Area
(August 11, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to clean and paint the MD 147 (Harford Road) bridge over I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in Parkville Monday, August 14. Weather permitting, the project will be complete in late fall 2023.
Contractor crews will begin working to set up work zone signs and other traffic control devices within the bridge work zone. Later this month, crews will install temporary barriers along I-695 and install shields underneath the bridge in preparation for bridge cleaning and painting. Daytime shoulder closures may occur at any time Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will also be temporary left or right single and double lane closures Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. the next day. There also may be interchange ramp lane shifts Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. the next day.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor Titan Industrial Services, Inc. of Baltimore will perform the work. Customers who have questions about this project may contact the State Highway Administration District 4 Office - Construction Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 during business hours.
The State Highway Administration understands temporary lane closures can be an inconvenience, but this work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. Motorists are asked to reduce speeds approaching and while in active work zones.
