Motorists Can Expect Daytime Single-Lane Closures
(July 24, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to install Americans with Disabilities Act compliant concrete sidewalk ramps and a concrete bus pad shelter along eastbound MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) between Tidewater Lane and Biscayne Bay Boulevard near Chase tomorrow, July 25. The project should be complete in early August, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect single-lane closures and shoulder closures guided by a flagging operation Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The new sidewalk will enhance safety and provide access for pedestrians and those wishing to access nearby public transportation. The project also includes repairing existing concrete curbs and gutters in the project limits.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor Concrete General, Inc. of Rockville, will use signs, barrels, cones, and flaggers to safely guide motorists through the work zone. Motorcyclists are urged to use caution for uneven pavement during the project.
The State Highway Administration understands lane closures associated with road construction may be an inconvenience, but the work is necessary to maintain a world-class transportation system. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay close attention while driving through the work zone.
